Leading with Courage, Resilience & Unity

January always brings a sense of fresh possibilities – and at NeighborHealth Center, we are stepping into this new year with renewed hope and confidence in what lies ahead for our patients and the community we serve.

There’s no denying that 2025 was a challenging season for NeighborHealth. We faced difficult decisions and significant changes, but through it all, our team leaned in with courage, resilience, and unity. Together, we reorganized our structure and staffing model to position the organization for long-term sustainability. The road was not easy, but with the unwavering support of our staff, partners, donors, community, and God’s guiding hand, we emerged stronger—operationally, financially, and spiritually.

Today, we are energized by a dedicated leadership team and exceptional providers who are ready to carry our mission forward: to serve Christ by loving our neighbors through excellent, compassionate, and accessible healthcare. Our gratitude for the collective effort that brought us to this moment truly goes beyond words.

As we look ahead to 2026, the momentum is real—and the vision is bold. Internally, we will roll out new operating, accounting, and IT systems that will strengthen our foundation, improve efficiency, and allow us to plan more strategically for the future. Externally, we are focused on expanding community awareness so we can reach more neighbors and grow our circle of support.

We are also excited to take meaningful steps toward growth. Later this year, we will open a new in-house pharmacy, removing barriers and making it easier for our patients to access affordable, convenient medications essential to their health. At the same time, our leadership team and Board of Directors are actively evaluating plans for a second NeighborHealth clinic, carefully discerning where we can best serve neighbors with the greatest need.

Thanks to our incredible staff and the generosity of those who believe in our mission, this is a truly exciting season for NeighborHealth. What began nearly a decade ago as a vision for accessible, high-quality healthcare for all continues to grow—and our community is healthier and stronger because of it. To our patients, donors, partners, and friends: THANK YOU. We could not do this without you, and we are deeply grateful to walk into the future together.

Call for Sponsorship

NeighborHealth Center’s 4th Annual Partnership Breakfast brings our community together to celebrate what’s possible through partnership. As our sole fundraising event, the Breakfast highlights stories of impact and resilience made possible by individuals, families, and businesses who believe in our mission. This year’s theme, the Power of Partnership, reflects a simple truth: we can’t do this work alone—partnership is what moves our mission forward.

We are eager to welcome new sponsors to partner with us for this event. Explore available sponsorship opportunities or reach out to Darlene Fiscus, Director of Development, to learn more.

Help Us Care for More Neighbors: Starting With You

One of the most meaningful ways our donors and community partners can support NeighborHealth Center is by choosing us for their primary care. We currently have capacity to welcome new Medicare, Medicaid, and commercially insured patients, with appointments available in less than a week.

Growing these patient groups is essential to our mission. As a non-profit health center, serving more insured patients strengthens our ability to care for uninsured neighbors who have limited access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Simply put, when our insured patient base grows, our ability to serve our most vulnerable neighbors grows, too.

NeighborHealth Center provides comprehensive care for individuals and families, including pediatrics, adult primary care, women’s health, prenatal care, integrated behavioral health, and other whole-person services.

We invite you to establish your primary care with NeighborHealth Center and share this opportunity within your networks. If you or someone you know is looking for a new provider, call (984) 222-8000 to schedule an appointment. Your choice helps expand access to care for thousands across our community. Thank you for helping NeighborHealth remain a place where everyone is welcome and cared for.

Share the Love

Hey hey hey – it’s almost Valentine’s Day! 💌

At NeighborHealth Center, love is at the core of everything we do. It fuels our mission and inspires supporters like you to continually uplift the most vulnerable communities in our city.

Now for the fun part. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, our team created a special Valentine just for you – and another you can easily share with someone in your life who would also love our mission of serving Christ by loving our neighbors through excellent, compassionate, and accessible healthcare. Designed to be shared in just a few clicks, it’s a simple way to spread the love.

We believe that the smallest acts often make the biggest impact. This season, we invite you to help us share our mission with a friend, colleague, or family member. We get it…life is full – that’s why we’ve made it easy to pass this along and invite others to learn more about the work happening across Wake County and the surrounding areas.

Inside, they’ll find a few ways to join you – and so many others – in supporting NeighborHealth. Whether it’s following along on social media, sharing our mission with a friend, or coming in for a tour to see the work firsthand, even the simplest acts go a very long way.

Share the Digital Valentine. A quick and meaningful way to invite someone to learn more about NeighborHealth!

We hope this small gesture brings a smile and helps spread love a little further this season. Thank you for being part of what makes NeighborHealth Center possible.

XOXO,
Your friends at NeighborHealth

Power of Faith Partners

We feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have such amazing partners of several congregations within Wake County. We want to take a moment to highlight a couple of them today and some of the recent experiences we’ve had with them:

St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Gifts of Grace: NeighborHealth was honored to be part of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church’s Gifts of Grace event this past year. This event provided parishioners with an opportunity to learn about the work of local nonprofit agencies and give donations in honor of friends and family. We are grateful to St. Michael’s for creating space for connection and collaboration among agencies as we work together to better serve our community.

Hayes Barton United Methodist Church Generous Helping:  In addition to their continued partnership to provide food bags for our patients experiencing food insecurity, Hayes Barton chose NHC to benefit from their Generous Helping event in December. We were honored that their congregants spent an evening collecting, organizing, and assembling food bags to help us care for the whole person at NeighborHealth.

We are deeply grateful for the many church partners who faithfully support NeighborHealth Center and our mission. We want to say a special thanks to The Peak Church for designating their Christmas Eve offering to NHC. Thanks to the Summit Church and Church of the Apostles for their continued support in 2025, going into 2026. We are thankful for these partnerships – and for the many others we are unable to name here – whose generosity and commitment help strengthen care for our community.

Volunteer Opportunities Coming soon for NeighborHealth Center

NeighborHealth Center is eager to welcome new volunteers for structured, mission-aligned positions that enhance the patient experience while offering meaningful service opportunities for community members. Volunteer positions are available to support both patient-facing and organizational needs. Initial roles include waiting room hosts to welcome patients and visitors, assist with wayfinding, answer basic questions, and help maintain welcoming and orderly waiting areas. Additional opportunities coming soon will engage volunteers in support of our development team with events, tabling opportunities, and fundraising activities.

This is just the beginning! Stay tuned as we continue to develop and add more meaningful opportunities throughout the year.
