Celebrating NeighborHealth’s Future Leaders in Medicine

At NeighborHealth Center, we know that the health of our community relies on the accessibility and availability of high-quality, affordable healthcare. Yet, working in healthcare requires dedication and an innate drive to serve – in addition to years of training. NeighborHealth is proud to serve as an incubator for future leaders in medicine.

Over the next few months, we will say goodbye to three of our dedicated Medical Assistants as they move on to pursue professional medical careers. Tommy Rychener, Becca Cloninger, and David Parker have each made an indelible impact on the lives of countless NeighborHealth patients! While we are sad for them to go, we are excited to see where the future will take them.

Tommy, Becca, and David have credited their experience at NeighborHealth with solidifying their desires to serve others in a healthcare setting and shaping their goals to become medical professionals. Click here to read their stories.

Well, our friends at Castle Family Health Centers (in California) made this helpful, short video as an explainer. Give it a watch to learn more about the excellent care we provide, and the resources we are advocating for so we can continue this important work in our community.

MedAssist + Duke Raleigh Hospital Outreach Event

Becca Cloninger and Leah Warnke, two Medical Assistants and part of the NHC Outreach Team, represented NeighborHealth at the MedAssist health fair in partnership with our friends at Duke Raleigh Hospital. The event was an opportunity to continue to spread the word in the community about NHC’s work, and to support MedAssist’s mission to “dispense opportunities through improved health”, providing over the counter medications for patients in need.

Pray with NeighborHealth

NeighborHealth Center recently launched Pray with NeighborHealth, a monthly email in which we will share specific ways to join us in prayerful support of our work in our community. We are so grateful for friends and supporters who pray for NeighborHealth regularly, and we are encouraged by the opportunity to share specific prayer requests with you on the first Friday of every month.

If you’d like to join this prayer email, please email

Did You Know?

In 2023, almost a third (32%) of our patients were uninsured, more than three times the national average for other Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alikes (10%). NeighborHealth provided more than $1.8 million in unreimbursed care! Please consider a donation to support this community-building work.
